I am trying to get better quality prints with the COVID-19 MASK v2 (Fast print, no support, filter required) by lafactoria3d. Ideally, I'd like to be able to print some out for donations and I have friends that are willing to purchase filament to help out too!
My issue is at least with the first layer. The images attached may not be from the very last prints, but they are still a close enough representation of what I'm getting.
As you see I can pull of a string or two or more from the face that comes off the print bed and the tiny gaps are not filling in. This is fine for my use, but if I am to donate these then I am afraid people won't want to use them.
My setup:
Hatchbox PLA
CR-10S with an E3D v6 all metal hot end
CR-10 Heavy Duty customisable modular e3D V6 mount Volcano 5015 ABL
What I've tried in S3D; only changes listed, in order by tabs:
Primary Layer Height = 0.25mm - per the creator's settings
First Layer Height = 130%
First Layer Width = 150%
Interior Fill Percentage = 30%
185° - determined from a temp tower
25% fan speed starting at layer 2 - Reduced fan speed due to the dual fan setup on the E3D v6
Offset Z-Axis = -0.01mm - Suggested by the creator but I'm afraid to go too low
External Thin Wall Type = Allow single extrusion walls
Internal Thin Wall Type = Allow single extrusion fill
It had been over a year since I had run my printer. So far I'm happy with the results after all that time, but I'd really like to dial it in! Thanks for reading and for any suggestions.
