Issue with a very simple piece

Hi,

I have designed a very simple piece in sketchup, exported as STL, and imported in S3D :

One printed, I noticed that there is a gap between the central part and the base :

At first, I started to blame the printer (Eryone Thinker SE), but when I looked at the preview from above in S3D, I noticed that the gap is there:

For me, it looks like a bug... But is there anything I can do to get my piece printed correctly?
I have attached the factory file if you want to have a look.

No factory file, but.........Inspirational guess!

Use the Separate Connected Surfaces option on the Mesh menu.

It's probably just how the perimeter thicknesses work out, and your gap fill settings aren't allowing it to fill the gap. You can increase your extrusion width so that the inners and outers come together with no gap, or you might have to reduce the minumum flow for your single extrusion so it will fill the gap.

Sorry, I forgot to attach the factory file, here it is :)

I will check your suggestions, thanks a lot.

Yeah, it's just how the perimeters work out on that part. Increase your extrusion width to .42mm and you're golden.

Use the Separate Connected Surfaces option on the Mesh menu.
What is this command supposed to do? Nothing happens when I click on it...

Indeed, when set to 0.42mm, I don't have a gap in the preview. But then I have 2 questions:
  • Will the dimensional accuracy be impacted when changing this setting?
  • Should I increase the extrusion multiplier to compensate, as wider lines at the same speed will need more plastic?
I will make a test tomorrow morning, it's late now where I live ;)

Dimensional accuracy might be impacted some, but the software will take care of the required flow rates, path spacing, and all that jazz. It's not something you need to think about.
