Slicing issue with supports disabled

I'm seeing an interesting behavior when I slice some models. Some features are not being sliced properly when supports are disabled, but they are sliced properly with supports enabled. Here are a couple examples of what I am seeing:

You can see that holes are being closed up, and parts of the fonts in the second model are being closed up. The only difference between the two slicing profiles is that support has been enabled. The top model is located here, if you want to try slicing it yourself:

Re: Slicing issue with supports disabled

i tried it and it slices fine for me either way. usually when a hole gets filled like that though it means there is a problem with the model. i put it netfabb and it says its ok but that doesnt really mean its 100% good. netfabb basic just checks for major issues. i am slicing at .15 layer height and first layer is 100%. sometimes subtle errors can be picked up depending on settings. in the advanced tab on your process do you have slicing behavior set to heal or discard? is the merge feature checked?

Re: Slicing issue with supports disabled

Good catch! I thought that everything was identical between the 2 profiles, but Merge all outlines was checked in the non-support profile and unchecked in the support profile. Everything seems to be slicing correctly now. Thanks! :D
