Printrboard G2 in Printrbot Metal Plus

I've replaced my controller board with the Printrboard G2.

Control works from Cura. But I can't get Simplify3D to talk to the device.

I think it has a version of the Marlin firmware. Not sure.

Can someone point me in the right direction?

I'm learning that the newer Printrboard uses g2core with some compatibility with Marlin firmware. It's fundamentally very different than the G-code command set used by most printers.

Is there any plan to support g2core in a future release of Simplify3D?

I'm not an expert. I'll tell you what I've learned.
g2core is based on drivers that are used for CNC machining.
The Printrboard G2 is a 32-bit board that provides nice smooth operation (microstepping) of the motors.

It can also run Kilpper firmware (https://www.klipper3d.org/).

Of course, if you're able to support this type of board, talk to one of the people supporting those codes and not me.
