Trouble using Left Extruder

Been using this software for a while and have had no real problems but trying to print with the left extruder only has me frustrated the last few days.
I have been printing mostly with the right extruder (i know I have used the left before but now I have this problem)

Several issues:
- The printer starts to print without heating the left extruder
- The left extruder is positioned off to the left of the build plate, so the initial prime of filament just goes in the air (or would but nothing comes out as the extruder does not heat up)

I may be doing something basic wrong here and just cant figure it out - i hope.

So to use the left extruder only on a print:
I go to EXTRUDER tab and left extruder is listed as tool 1 (tool 0 is the right extruder)
I go to LAYER tab and select left extruder as primary
I go to INFILL tab and select left extruder
support not used
I go to temperature and set HBP to 0 (not needed)
sel left extruder layer 1 to 200 (tool 1)
set right extruder to layer 1 0 degrees (tool 0)
other tabs remain at the defaults I always use.

When I try to print like this off USB or card:
The left extruder is off the plate (forward Right - about 5MM)
The bot does not wait for the left extruder to heat - just starts printing - the LCD display also just shows the temp of the extruder not the temp and the set point xxx/xxx

I went through a reset of the software back to my flashforge dual settings but no help.

Funny thing is if I print with the x3g file that I made with makerware - all works perfectly - so I doubt it is an eprom setting.

I am also using sailfish 7.6 - but have made no changes and it works fine in rep G too....

Any ideas?

I'm having a similar problem to yours. I set to print with both extruders on my rep 2x and only the right extruder comes up to temp. I'm using the right extruder for layers and infill and the left extruder for supports. I set both extruder temps in edit processes and assign the extruders to there tasks, but still the left extruder doesn't come up to temp, only the right does. This it goes to the hold point and starts to print.
Please help someone, we are on a time crunch to finish a project.

They've made it pretty easy. If you want to print with the left extruder only, the load one of their preconfigured profiles that has "(left extruder)" at the end. However, if you want to print with both extruders (for example, when using one extruder for the part and a different one for support material, or when doing dual extrusion printing), then you will need to load the "(both extruders)" profiles. They already have those configured to heat up the appropriate extruders for you. No changes required.
