Am I missing something? No improvement after 60 days

I am printing on Creality Ender 5 plus with a Mosquito magnum PLA 0.2 and prints are good and consistent. My issue is I cannot get better results out of Simplify3d then Cura. I feel like I was under the impression that this program would take me to the next level. It costed a lot and used by many many people so during the trial period I just felt like I hadn't found and had accessed all the fun and advanced setting which would add that extra zing to my finished models. I did find that it works very well with limited user settings. I am I wrong to feel this way? Have the free slicers just surpassed this program? I kinda destroyed my last comparisons testing the durability but I can whip 2 models one from each program. I will do it at 0.2 and same speeds same flow settings... cooling ect... Maybe the community can give me tips.
