More efficient way to assign models to processes

I could be overlooking something, but it seems that assigning models to processes in V5 still requires going into every process and selecting the models from a list.

This is a real pain when dealing with many models and multiple processes. I was REALLY hoping this would be more interactive in V5, like highlight 5 processes and then maybe hold down a modifier key and pick the models on screen that you want to add or remove to a process.

I use multiple processes and multiple models in almost every build I do, and a point-and-click workflow to relate models to processes would be big time saver, and just nice to have.

Have you tried the new Variable Settings Wizard? It has a mode where you can define how many different processes you want, and then you can drag and drop all of your models between the different processes.

Go to Tools > Variable Settings Wizard, and select the "Different Settings for Different Models" option.

Re: More efficient way to assign models to processes

This seems to create new processes - that's not what I'm after. I have a template factory file with (usually) 14 processes. An STL will be associated with up to three of them. I may have multiple STLs in the same group of processes, or each STL might be unique.

I open up the template factory file with all the processes. I load in new STL files. Then one-by-one I go into each process and select the models. If, in the main screen, I could highlight several processes, and then on-screen pick the models I want to add or remove from the processes, that would be a beautiful thing.
