Adaptive layer height add on

The adaptive layer height is a nice feature but it can impact top and bottom printed layer thicknesses dramatically.

If the standard layer height is .2mm and the requested number of top and bottom solid layers is 4, that would result in a printed thickness of .8mm at the top or bottom of a print (without adaptive layer height active). However if the adaptive layer height is active, and happens to reduce the layer height through those areas to .1 the same print will only have a .4mm thickness in the top and bottom.

I suggest we have the option to specify a top and bottom layer thickness in mm's as an alternative to layer numbers. This way the adaptive layer feature won't alter their thickness by more than .1mm (assuming .1 to .3mm adaptive layers)

Or the software could automatically increase or decrease the number of solid layers to match as closely as possible the original requested implied thickness.

Cura have a good settings here - there you define thickness of the top/bottom layers and not number of layers, makes a lot of sense as when you change the layer height it automatically changes the number of top/bottom layers to get to the required thickness (you can force the number of layers instead of thickness if you really want to)
