V5 is adding solid layers (bridging) and random levels. These layers are not part of the model. The bridges are the ares in yellow, they are filling in part of the model. How do I stop this?
I am also experiencing the same behaviour with v5. Never had these kinds of issues with 4.1.2.
I have come across a few models now that I have been experiencing this issue with. No model/mesh issues that need repairing either, but S3D has decided to add multiple single solid layers out of nowhere, which don't exist in the model at all. If I flip the model upside down, the unusual solid layers no longer show up -- however, I don't want to flip my model because it will greatly increase print time, hence why I have it in the position it is in.
I hope these issues are resolved, as I've had so many small issues with S3D v5 that did not exist in v4, that I regret spending the money on this upgrade -- from the processes now constantly forgetting about any changes I do if I don't explicitly hit "update profile" every time, print area size not being remembered so large models constantly alert me that the printable area is too small (which is resolved by selecting my process, but seeing the message every time gets annoying, sidebar widths being forgotten each app launch (the sidebar on the left with Models and Processes, I have to constantly shrink it), and now random solid layers being added in models that don't exist are being arbitrarily added. Turning off bridging as well does nothing.
I've attached a factory file that is under the attachment size threshold so you can see an example of this happening with a model.
Version 5.0.1 was released this week with some new mesh repair options that can help with these types of models. Update to V5.0.1 then go to Edit Process Settings > Advanced tab, and change the Slicing Region Repair Mode to "Alternating Fill". That new mode worked correctly with the factory file above, and I imagine it will solve the issue from the original post as well.
