Extruder Prime Stops Working

On My Fuison F410 I have do disable “use relative extrusion distance” to get S3D V5 to slice correctly.
However when I do this the line

G1 E30.0 F500 ; prime extruder

stops working.

Anyone have any ideas on this? I can provide any additional info needed.

Thank you.

Re: Extruder Prime Stops Working

I'm guessing when you disable relative extrusion distances, S3D puts a M82 at the top of the file telling the machine to switch to absolute extrusion distances. When you have the "G1 E30.0 F500" command, I think you intend to use relative distances. So you could just update the script to say this:

M83 ; switch to relative extrusion distances
G1 E30.0 F500 ; prime extruder
M82 ; switch back to absolute extrusion distances

Or just zero the extrusion distance before and after the prime. Then it will work in both absolute or relative mode.

G92 E0 ; zero extrusion distance
G1 E30.0 F500 ; prime extruder
G92 E0 ; reset extrusion distance again

Re: Extruder Prime Stops Working

Ok, I will look at this. The printer is the Fusion F410. Apparently we need to do one of the following to get it to slice correctly in V5.

1. disable “use relative extrusion distance”
2. remove the G90 command
3. or add M83 command to the end of the script."

Reluctantly Fusion said doing number 1 was probably the best option.

Heree is the last section of the start script.

; === pause for heating ===
; reset filament monitor
M42 P63 S0
G4 P100
G4 P50
M42 P63 S1
;
G1 Z10.0 F2000 ; move up
G1 E30.0 F500 ; prime extruder
G1 X20 Y15 F9000 ; move back
G1 Z0 F1000 ; move down to begin wipe
G1 X150 E4.0 F10000 ; wipe print head (extrude material while we do this)
G92 E0.0 ; reset e count
