V5 Crashing On Clicking Prepare To Print

I have upgraded from v4 which was always very stable. Crashes were rare.
Now with v5, it crashes very often on Clicking Prepare To Print.
It happens randomly with many models.
The program simply closes. The only way to safeguard this is I must save a factory file often and reopen it to prepare to print.
This is unacceptable for a paid program that took so long to finish.
It is quite frustrating.
I am working on a 4K monitor. Not sure if that is a factor.
Please advise how to fix this.

I've encountered a similar issue... do you have coasting or wipe enabled?

Try disabling coasting first then slice your model. Most likely won't crash... I've already submitted a bug report to the S3D team.

Yes I almost always have coasting enabled, and sometimes wipe. That may be a workaround, however I want coasting and wipe so it's not an acceptable fix for me. What is working for me is to constantly save the factory file, then if it crashes I reopen it and slice it.
The crashes are random and if I reopen and slice it works. Still a pain however.

We know of one confirmed issue with coasting and wiping which we are working on right now. We should have a fix out shortly.

That sounds great. Will you guys be releasing a minor bug fix, like a v5.01 or something?

I don't have coasting or wiping enabled under retractions and I get CTD's routinely. (win 10 pro)

Yes, the fix is planned for our upcoming 5.0.1 release which should be out soon.
