Bambu Labs Automatic Material System (AMS)

Does V5.01 support Bambu Labs Automatic Material System (AMS)?

Yup! We've been using the AMS for plenty of prints in our office. Send our team a message along with the details for your AMS setup and they can give you the correct profile.

Thanks,

I note that the extruder (color) is limited to 4 and you cannot assign colors to the multi material model.
Please advise the best way to connect to the Bambu printer via LAN.

Cheers

I think you can use up to 6 colors with Simplify3D. It supports 6 tools max.

Re: Bambu Labs Automatic Material System (AMS)

V5 added wifi support for printers from 5 or 6 different brands (Ultimaker, FlashForge, MakerBot, Qidi, etc), but I don't think Bambu was yet included in that list. When we bought our original printer they didn't even support LAN connections although it looks like that has now changed in the past few months. So it may be something we can add in future releases, but it's not in there yet since their firmware didn't used to support it.

Re: Bambu Labs Automatic Material System (AMS)

Thanks,

So far I can only seem to access 4 extruders and cannot connect to the printer.

I presume I have transfer a sliced model via micro sd card

I am not convinced that this constitutes compatibility with Bambu Labs X1C

Are there plans to increase the number of extruders and provide wifi connectivity in future revisions?

S3D supports up to 6 tools, so you can use that many with the system.

See my note above concerning wifi support.
