Don's first look at S3D 2.2.0

This really isn't a technical review, I'm an artist, not a tech guy.

My little dolphin video was actually the first thing I did with 2.2.0 (pre-release, it is available now).

This is the same dolphin, but bigger. I usually don't print with supports, but I made this model specifically to test the new support options in Simplify3D 2.2.0.

I didn't use a printer profile, I just put in values that I always use. I'll try the profile for my Duplicator next.

I'll write up more about it shortly, I have to dive into a conference call in a few minutes. This is done using the default settings. Below I have a grab of the new support tab.

The print went well! The supports came off quickly...maybe 30 seconds. The bottom of the dolphin was nice and smooth.

The bottom photo had the background removed (select similar than fill), but is otherwise not photo-shopped. Those edges are REALLY clean. This was printed on a Duplicator 4S in PLA.

I just may use more supports in the future!

Thanks for the heads up Don! I was hoping we'd see a "Merry Christmas" from S3D!
Downloading right now to see if my big long wish list got any attention :)
