The steps to use live preview tracking should be the same as V4. The usual workflow is:
- Setup your print, slice, and preview the print
- Click "Begin printing on machine" to start printing that file on your machine (this may open the Machine Control Panel in the process)
- Once the print has started, you can return back to the preview and you should see that the "Live preview tracking" checkbox is now enabled, indicating the feature is active
If you only want the preview to show complete layers, you can leave the preview in "Preview by Layer" mode. If you want to allow the preview to show partial layers as the machine prints them, you can change to "Preview by Line". I tend to use line mode, but the choice is up to you.
The preview should update every few seconds as the print progresses. If you don't see the preview advancing, please go to the Machine Control Panel and review the progress bar in the top left. If that progress bar is moving, then the live preview should also be advancing. Sometimes it will be on hold for a minute or so while the machine preheats, so you usually have to wait until after homing and preheating before you see the preview advancing.
Last thing to mention is that if you exit the preview, or re-slice some other print, then the live preview will be disabled since you are now previewing a different file. So best to keep the current preview loaded if you want to see the ongoing progress. Hope that helps!
