Malyan M180 3D Desktop printer ?

Well i've posted the changelog on the main topic.
the 7.8 is stable with better temperature handling, usb print are stable, even doing something else on the PC.
All is functionnal is a good to go.

I will post my setting for Makerware print , i got a pretty good result now.
My next hardware mod will be a more thicker glass bed, because the one in the package is too thin, and so doens't present a good level on the whole surface.
the Z probe need to be shimmed, if not the level spring are too much compressed and bend the heated bed.

A tip for the Malyan M180 ... Set/adjust the level of the print plate when the maximum plate set temperature is reached.

I've just contacted malyan and they gave me the lastest firmware ( V7.8) for those who are interested... leave me a PM.
I'm testing it for now, and we will put it online when all the update procedure will be OK

Update procedure for dummies:
make a folder in your C: name "malyan" and put the file in it
Note on what com port the machine is connected (eg com X)
type CMD in your start menu
right click " run as administrator"

Type in the cmd
cd..
cd.. until your are in c:\
the cd malyan
then update.exe -P COMX ( your printer com port) /!\ don't press enter !! /!\
switch off your printer
switch on the printer while pressing the jog dial ( the round button ) and KEEP your finger on it until the process finish flashing.
press enter on the computer keyboard.
Pray !

In 3minutes max it's done. !

Reboot your printer ! and notice the new firmware on it ( 7.8 )

The chinese instructions were less clearer than that , i spent an hour retrying all the procedure )


I just got the mainboard plan here, and there is an external fan port on the main board. a 12v one .
I might be the spare connector stuck on the right interior side of the printer.
I will relaease the upgraded glass clamp & the fan support when i get back from holidays, i'm now in the mountainnnnn !

The OSX driver are i bit touchy.

si tu es Mac OSX 10.10 (Yosemite) need enable developer mode:
Terminal :
sudo chown -R root:wheel usb.kext
sudo chmod -R 755 usb.kext
sudo nvram boot-args="kext-dev-mode=1"

Pour tester que ca fonctionne .
sudo kextutil usb.kext

ensuite telecharge la derniere version de makerware sur le site de makerbot, puis remplace les fichiers avec le patch present dans le recap.
