I have been using automatically generated supports for my prints. When I remove the supports the surface of the print is very rough. Is there any way to avoid this and get a smooth surface?

In addition to those recommendations, the dense supports option can also help if you want to increase the support density just below the surface. It is particularly powerful if you have a second extruder for dissolvable support material.
