Randomise Layer Heights: Artistic Effect

Im wanting to produce a variance of between 1.5 and 5.0mm layer heights for artistic effect, ideally having keyframes set over randomised layer number eg
22, 35, 78, 89, 112 etc
and then smoothly morph between the keyframes

It looks great when casting using the printed molds and then applying finish to accentuate the grain

Re: Randomise Layer Heights: Artistic Effect

So Im guessing the should be moved to feature requests?
Or no one has hack/code to modify the gcode...which is a tall ask I guess but after seeing the fuzzy skin options etc, got me thinking that skinning is a great way to get effect without having to hugely post process

If there was the ability to do this, you can actually turn the 'artifacts' into an art form, using really thick eg 0.75 down to 0.2, with the keyframes, you can create slciing that looks like wood when a light colour is first sprayed and then a darker colour but the top colour is rubbed back with a rag while still wet...pretty effective...which was an initial mistake :-) I noticed it just jusing a 0.4 thickness but would be great to develop it
