Re: Improve GCODE Resolution

I see this thread is almost 2 years old, but it's also been almost 2.5 years since 4.1 was released... perhaps at least convert the Arc Welder features from the OctoPrint plugin?

Re: Improve GCODE Resolution

I agree,...its a couple of years later...anything happen with this? I do a lot of (large) mold work which is often cylindrical and the print I did was quite faceted despite being imported as 3dmf (although step would have been nice)
Im tempted to run the cmd line and get a feel for the impact and report back here
Even if s3d could you use the plugin at least, in the meantime would be of significant benefit.

Cheers

Re: Improve GCODE Resolution

This thread is many years old and outdated now, but I can give a few updates for the most recent software.

The new V5 release included an entirely new slicing engine that already processes models in higher detail. For example, we can slice cylinders and spheres similar to what the original poster included and they have incredibly fine resolution that creates perfectly round prints from our testing. In addition, our new 5.1 software also includes additional digits for the extrusion distances which further improves the fidelity for these extremely fine movements. So there have been many improvements in the last few years!

I think the request from the original author is now included in our most recent releases, so I'm going to mark this as completed. Feel free to open a new thread if there are other more recent requests related to V5 that you want to suggest.
