I have three layers of things I want to print with a dual extrusion printer - material 1 (bottom), material 2 (middle) and again material 1 (top). I am trying to figure out how I can do this in simplify3D - is there a way to do this? I know there is the dual extrusion feature but I plan on modelling 3 separate STL files so they are easy to connect together and avoid modelling the material 1 part with a cavity to insert material 2.
For reference, there is curvature to this part which makes it more complex (and why I want to avoid modelling the cavity inside the base part).
So TLDR I want to know - has anyone tried 3 STL files in the dual extrusion wizard before and if so, how did it turn out for you?
Thanks for your help and please follow up with questions if you need clarification as I know the explanation is a little difficult to imagine.
