What is the ideal hardware to slice massive files

Hi, I am slicing large files on an intel i5 6600K 4 core processor. Some slices take 15hours to complete and the gcodes are well over 2GB.
I can see that the process cores are heavily loaded during the slice process. My current system has 64GB of ram which has worked OK, but I will go to 128GB for margins.

I would like to upgrade to a more capable setup and wonder if S3D can make use of all cores I can throw at it.
I run these slice operations with the preview disabled as that otherwise crashes the software. (It just shuts down sometime during the multihour process)

All the best

Yes, S3D will make full use of the cores and RAM, so generally the more you have the better.

It sounds like the sizes you are dealing with are rather extreme. Have you thought about reducing the number of triangles in the mesh? That would also decrease the slicing time and the size of the output files.

Thank you for confirming the many cores support!
The triangle amount is reduced as much as possible without sacrificing geometry already. The mesh is very efficient for being the shape it is. It is an extreme application, especially for FDM/FFF.
