Please give me the ability to create my own specific startup file to be used every time the program loads. I'm sure that many find the ability to start right back where one left off the last time to be useful but I find it utterly counter-intuitive to the way that every other piece of software (3d-related or not) in the world works. I want to tweak my settings, find my perfect default, save out a .Factory file and start at that specific file every time. I prefer to start each job with a clean slate, not with all of the tweaks, settings and experiments from the previous job waiting to, frankly, bite me in the tuchus. I just want the ability to double-click on an STL file, hit print and know that all of my preferred settings are good-to-go instead of some funky set of infil parameters, shells and also an extra Yoda head combined with the item I intended to print.
I have created a blank factory file and use that to start S3D. This achieves part of my goal (I hope) in that all of my settings are as I expect them but I also get a prompt asking me to save my current workspace...
