I just click anywhere on the trackpad using 2 fingers and then panning works fine. I believe most Mac trackpads already right-click by default when you press with 2 finger, so you shouldn't need to change any settings.

I have been having issues with this as well. Unless you change your Mac trackpad settings to set right click in the bottom right corner (I have mine set up as a double finger tap), then you will be unable to pan. On V4 I used the CMD key + left click to pan. V5 is practically unusable for myself without a mouse unfortunately. I personally prefer my settings to be a 2 finger tap for right click and just couldn't adjust to the rest of my day to day with that setting changed just for Simplify3D V5.

I really hope we get some more options. I know it's a tiny issue but it's definitely one that makes the usability factor on V5 very frustrating. At first I actually though this feature was removed...
Definitely looking for this as well. My situation and explanation is 100% a match to yours. It's just too unusable for me on Mac anymore. Should be a basic setting to re-implement considering it worked in V4

Re: No longer able to drag models using (any) key on MacOS!!

I have a Mac laptop sitting right next to me. Click and drag with 2 fingers to pan works fine with S3D V5. Same for pinch to zoom. Rotate is just a single mouse click. That's the same way 3 other apps on this computer work for navigating the 3D view, so I think it's reasonably intuitive.
