I was having trouble with Simplify3D-5.1.2 locking up my PC after loading an extremely large scan file. When it locks, my PC is frozen. The cursor can move but it is notchy and beeps. Streaming music continues to play. Filemanager will not open. Taskmanager will not open. I have to do a hard boot with the physical power button. I have tried all of the following.
Delete savedState.factory: Navigate to C:\Users\%USERNAME%\AppData\Local\Simplify3D\S3D-Software and delete this file to reset the UI state.
Remove Conflicting Software: Uninstall ASUS Sonic Studio III or similar audio/gaming overlay software that interferes with startup.
Disable/Exempt Security Software: Sophos or similar antivirus software can cause crashes. Add an exception for S3D or temporarily disable the antivirus.
Repair Visual C++: Go to Control Panel > Programs and Features, select Microsoft Visual C++ Redistributable 2015, and choose "Repair".
Check Graphics Drivers: Update your GPU drivers or reinstall them to fix OpenGL issues.
I have uninstalled this version and all previous versions and deleted every S3D folder I could find. I did a new install and it freezes on the Log-in screen. I can enter my username but as soon as I try to type in the password everything locks up. This last attempt I was only able to enter 2 digits of the password.
Any help is appreciated.
