Greetings,
New user here, to both Simplify 3D and the TAZ 4 (my first 3D Printer).
Yesterday I downloaded a file from Thingiverse, ran it through Simplify3D using the default settings for the TAZ3 (the TAZ 4 isn't listed in the software). I manually preheated the machine, copied the gcode to an SD card and printed from the TAZ 4 and it worked perfectly.
Today I'm doing the same process on a custom designed 3D part for my CNC machine. Everything is the same, it creates the gcode, gives me a price and time estimate, and it all appears to be fine. I copy it to the SD card, put it in the machine, preheat, and it won't print.
I've tried manually preheating to ABS, and homing the table, both work fine, but when I tell it to print the file it says "Bed Heating". It stays that way for a good 15+ minutes and never prints. I went back into Simplify 3D and created a new file, this time turning off "wait for temperate controller to stabilize....", but I get the same results.
If I turn on the machine from cold and just tell it to print the file, it will start heating the bed, but it doesn't heat the extruder. Once the bed gets to 85 degrees (90 if I use the software defaults), it just sits there saying "Bed Heating".
I tried loading some of the files from the SD card that came with the machine and they print fine. The included also set the extruder and bed to the proper temperature automatically when I start the print (though it starts printing before the machine is preheated).
I've tried Extruder Tool 0 (default) and Tool 1 thinking I might have changed something on accident, with no changes. I haven't hooked up the computer to the machine to try to print from Simplify 3D yet as this isn't typically how I intend to use the machine, but that will be my next step.
As an aside, I just tried re-printing the part I printed yesterday that worked fine, and I have to manually preheat the machine to ABS. If I try to load the file to print, it only heats the bed, not the extruder.
Any advice on this matter will be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance!
