PrintrBot Simple Metal Under Extrusion

Hello all!
New S3D user here coming from Repetier and Cura. I have been using Cura as a slicer to generate the GCode and import that with Repetier with great results! I like Cura but it appears to just give up in the middle of a print more than it should so I just use it as a slicer. I have been reading a lot about S3D and thought I would give it a go. I got it installed and started working towards my first print. I have confirmed that with Cura/Repetier that the printer prints really good, but with S3D it appears that not enough material is being extruded. I have imported a Gcode file from Cura and the print is as expected. I believe this is a filament extrusion multiplier or something (currently set to 1) but I am not sure about the 5D Firmware option either.

I am hoping that you can help me out. I appreciate the assistance in advance!

Mike

Re: PrintrBot Simple Metal Under Extrusion

ok, to start with the simple stuff...have you measured your filament and entered that value in the "other" tab. printerbot runs marlin FW right? if so 5D, allow zeroing and sticky parameters all should be checked in the gcode tab. if the filament dia is correct then average multiplier range is from .92-1.06.....atleast for me. is your under extrusion only on the first layer or is it through the whole print? is the nozzle dia set right? do you have the extrusion width set on auto or wider?

Set your Extrusion Width to auto or 0.48. That's what I use and it's worked fine on my Simple Metal.
