GCODE to prime extrude

Hi,

After running several hours worth of prints on my right extruder I switched to the left. The first few inches of the brim came out kinda brownish (white filament) and burnt looking. It did not adhere well. I was wondering if I can add some form of CGODE script to move the head to the ooze bucket and squirt out a few inches prior to the print start?

Might want to read the recent tip on editing your scripts: http://forum.simplify3d.com/viewtopic.php?f=8&t=1959. It mentions a very useful reference for gcode syntax.

All you need to do is add a few lines to your starting script. Something like:

T1 ; switch to left extruder
G1 X100 Y100 F3000 ; move to prime position (replace X100 Y100 with the coordinates of your dump location)
G1 E10 F800 ; prime extruder

Also, if you're getting burnt/brownish looking gunk, this usually occurs when the nozzle has plastic from previous prints stuck to it. It's good to clean your nozzle every once in a while before you start a print so you don't get any gunk on your prints
