Hiya all,

My quest for using ABS is going well.
Now using it with HIPS.

I was wondering what to do with ABS curling upwards. It's initially being supported by HIPS material but then curls upward.
I know it's a cooling thing but not sure what to do about it. It's 10mm above the build plate which is at 110C.

So do I add fan power or add temperature to the nozzle or the opposite. Drop the temperature which is at228C.

You should not be using any fan with ABS.

This may not apply in your case, but with ABS I have tried to orient the object on the such that the X and Y extents are minimal even if it means more support, maybe a lot more support. Slows down the print but at least it can finish without warping. A heated bed doesn't do much once you get higher up. This would require a heated chamber which few low-mid range printers have.

Maybe some one can offer help with cooling settings but my experience has not been good with it at higher layers to avoid warping.

I pretty much never use the layer fan for ABS prints. The layer fan almost always pulls the corners up and warps the entire print for me.

Also try different print speeds. Slower first then faster to see how it effects the print.

Prints are improving. Still getting patchy infill layers. Will work on that.
