Slicing small gear

I have a very small double gear I am trying to slice.

The larger portion of it comes out fine. The smaller portion is sliced with just the teeth, not the hub.

I have tried increasing the size of the hub slightly, but I am not sure how much I can increase it before it won't mesh anymore. Are there any settings that might help? I have attached the stl file representing the gear. I can also upload the openscad file if it'll help.

The real problem here is probably that your nozzle is too large to print tiny features like this. But if you still want to attempt it, you can probably lower your extrusion width until it is capable of printing it. Set your extrusion width to 0.2mm and I bet it will include the hub (although it probably won't print well unless you have a really small nozzle!)

beerdart, look at the grid. see how big yours is compared to his. did you scale it up?

joe's analysis is pretty much spot on.

0.35 extrusionwidth seem to be the limit.

Thanks for the tips. In order to get that ring, I had to drop my nozzle width so low that the print quality suffered a lot. I was able to get some gcode that worked well for the small gear off of another slicer, but the larger gear wasn't as good. I may just manually combine the gcode for the larger gear from S3D with the gcode for the smaller gear from whatever slicer I had used before (can't remember now).
