Re: X shift or 1.1.2 problem?

Thanks Karl.

I don't think the glass plate is moving. I printed one model out three times with different speeds and I got identical x shifts every time in the exact same location. What I've noticed the past few days is that the cooling fan for the motherboard is making a rattling sound when in use, and when I start up the machine it sounds like a jet engine. I dont know if this is related but you and Dean Piper on the Makergear forum but reckon its an issue of current. This is probably a stupid question but is there any way to run diagnostics on the motherboard?

I know nothing about arduino or how to modify the firmware. I had a look at the makergear wiki and I couldnt even find "Ardurap" listed in any of the settings! Any pointers or good tutorials I should look at?

Thanks for your help. Im new to 3D printing and using forums to troubleshoot and get help. Its great so many people are trying to help me solve my problem (here and over at the makergear google group).

If anyone wants to follow the makergear discussion its here:

Resolved

Hello everyone,

Sorry I haven't posted my progress in so long, and thanks for all the help! Turns out it was 99% human error and & 1% mechanical error!
The gear/pully drive for the x axis pulley belt wasn't fully tightened and it had slipped down and was resting flush with the motor. I have since realigned and tightened it and I've had no x shift problems. I feel like a dope for missing it originally.

Thanks for all the help, I'm new to 3D printing and using forms and it was amazing to see so many people give their time and share their expertise while trying to help me.

Thank you all again!
