extrusion width

hiya all.

I need some advice.

I am wondering what controlles the extrusion width. I assume that if my nozzle is 0.4mm I should be able to have a width of 0.4mm but that seems to be unachievable.
Ive tried to adjust most things on the extruder but nothing seems to resolve it.

am I wrong in my assumption?

The reason is that the holes are suppose to be 2.5mm but they are more like 1.5mm

I am using ABS at 240 deg

Ive attached the Gcode file

many thanks

Re: extrusion width

I actually almost made a tip of the day on this topic.

My recommendations for troubleshooting extrusion width would be to use Vase-mode on a standard cube.

3 bottom solid layers
0 top solid layers
vase mode on

Since vase-mode will only use one perimeter, you can adjust your extrusion width to find the right setting for your extrusion width. You'll need calipers to measure this.

Your holes may be the result of STL exporting from your CAD package.

If you can't change your settings for the CAD export , you could use the horizontal size compensation under the Other tab.

Re: extrusion width

Thank you, I will check inventor settings.

What settings would you suggest for adjustment to reduce the oversized width.

I am thinking it's the quantity extruded that's my problem but I'm also suffering gaps in walls.
