The brim would be a nice feature if it would work, but I have not had success with it unless I manually slow down it's speed to 25%. The first two shells of the brim seem to print ok, and then the third comes along and peels the first two off the plate, and even when I'm running the brim at 25% at the machine, the shells inside the outer 2 look different than the first 2 (as shown in attached photo). What is going on with the brim?
I'm using a Lulzbot TAZ5 machine by the way.

That sounds like a typical adhesion problem. Maybe you need to move the nozzle closer to the build plate to squish the filament more.

We've tried that with no success. Why is the outside of the brim and the part profile sticking fine, but the interior of the brim isn't sticking right?

If re-leveling your bed hasn't helped and printing slower fixes things I'd say make a separate process for your first few layers that prints much slower. This should minimize the risk of the print coming up off the bed.dexter.day wrote:We've tried that with no success. Are you wanting the brim to be kept on when the print is done?

Yes it does--the photo I attached to my original post is at the slower speed. If run at the default speed settings from Simplify3D, the third or fourth perimeter of the brim peels the rest of the brim up...

So what I would do is alter the default profile for your printer to have the first layer speed at the amount at which it works for you. When starting new print jobs just select the altered profile with the slower 1st layer speed.

That probably is what we'll end up having to do to run, but I'm still wondering why the interior perimeters on the brim print all strangely...
