I have a 32 Win 7 machine, and a fresh 1.1.1 install looks OK and opens, but using Import causes "stopped working".
This is the same issue I had with the 1.0.6 trial version I had, and I never solved it.
So, I next installed it on a Win7-64 machine just now, the import stl now works, but then a couple of prepares later, it "stopped".
It restarts and imports again without issues, but i have a feeling like it will stop intermittently in the future.
So, is the consensus video driver or what?

I think these are separate issues. Cdub is seeing some very intermittent issues where the import will work fine for some models, but then occasionally it won't. We've already figured out that it's just the one machine since his second performs fine so we're digging into that.
Dave - I think your problem with your first machine was that ANY import would fail to work, which yes, is most likely just a graphics card incompatibility. And if you have issues with a particular STL or FFF settings where is seems to constantly crash on Prepare, please do the same and post your factory file. We'll be happy to dig into it for you.

just when I import any stl file. the import window pops up, I select a file from my desktop and the program stops.
I copied this from the TMP dump file. Looks like an opengl32.dll.
I am downloading a new nvidia Quadro NVS 285 driver and will report back.

video driver solved the problem on the Win7-32 machine.
the prepare issue on the 64 bit machine happened with using Tom L's M2 FFF file.
I will send another report if it happens again, and try to have some specifics.

It appears my problems were also caused by an interaction with the graphics driver.
I updated the drivers on my laptop, and now the program seems to work fine.
Updating laptop graphics card drivers can be an issue. Many times, the graphics card vendors are not allowed to support the laptop graphics cards, and the laptop OEM's do not publish updates. I used Mobility Modder to update my drivers and it seems to have worked well.
