Re: CEL Robox Support

I too would love to have support for a Robox.

Been using Simplify3D on a Zyyx+ printer, and whilst the software is absolutely brilliant the machine has been very temperamental.

I've had 3 successful prints out of 26! The Zyyx+ was a costly mistake, although its build size is large, it does have an unheated bed and its special build plate is not up to much. I'll likely put it on ebay.

I'm now running a Robox and it's working right out the box with Automaker, which lacks the sophistication of Simplify3D. So please, let's have that Robox support, I'll likely buy another copy of Simplify3D to sell with the Zyxx+ and keep the copy which came with the Zyxx+ for the Robox.

Re: CEL Robox Support

I am also waiting for ROBLOX CEL support.
This is an issue since we mainly work with ROBOX
and also own a UP! printer which is also not supported.

BTW there is a new printer on the market ROBOZE.
We also own one and no support by simplify3d

Re: CEL Robox Support

While there is no official support as of yet, and I'm unsure if there ever will be, I have managed to get my Robox Dual Material machine to work using this workaround. It needs work on retractions, as it is a little oozy, and stringy on travels, but the opening and closing of the needle valves around tool changes is OK, and I have successfully done two colour test prints, but my Simplify3D knowledge is rudimentary at best. There is definitely an issue with retractions on small layers, as I can here the extruder backing up, which is a little frustrating, as I have had this better, so I have made a mistake on my settings somewhere.

The printer .frm is a little rough and ready, and to abort a print, you must use stop first, then abort. The profile RoboxDMR2 refers to Reel 2 or Filament 2, and RoboxDMR1 Reel 1 etc, so once you assign this profile to your process it will use that reel to print.

I have only printed out a few test cubes with hole in them, as well as the two colour road cone off thingyverse, so expect a few teething problems, but it is just submitted as for experimental use only, and bear in mind using it will almost certainly void any Robox warranty. :)

Re: CEL Robox Support

If anybody wants to try a QuickFill version, this** is working in tests, using the Left Extruder and Right Extruder settings, so 0.3mm & 0.8mm nozzle sizes for each model. I have had a mixed process work in the past, using 0.3mm as the primary extruder, and 0.8mm nozzle for infill.
The 0.8mm nozzle might need the extruder multiplier pumping up from0.90-0.92/0.95, but overall it is producing prints as good or better than AutoMaker at 0.2mm layer heights.

I have not done any tests re bridging or support with this profile (I did previously, but they got corrupted), and to be honest not fully up to speed at all with Simplify3D, but if anybody wants to add to the pot, feel free to do so.
Bear in mind, you cannot write to the SD card, so all comms are via USB with their pitfalls, plus none of the macros or custom commands are functional. I will update this later today, but it would be more helpful if S3D gave more access to customising the Custom Commands than just three macros, as MatterControl does for example, so that way the user experience would be enhanced.

**Just removed, as S3D start scripts errors not seen, and need amending.

Re: CEL Robox Support

OK, so I've corrected a few things, and done away with the Simplify3D Tool Change Script, and added a simplistic one I used in the DM profile (I will revisit this sometime, once I have uncooked the DM head..hmmm the joys of trying to do something different).

I have tested it so far, and it is working OK, just a little start dribble which is some legacy prime, that has crept in when editing the start scripts for each and both extruders. Interesting that S3D does allow different settings in here.
0.3mm with 0.8mm infill at 0.2mm layer heights
0.3mm with 0.8mm infill at 0.2mm layer heights
As you can see from the next images, all sliced OK, unlike previous.

Infill layer - 0.8mm nozzle - 0.2 layer height.png
I have set this profile up so Left Extruder, aka 0.3mm nozzle works across the print, same with Right Extruder but with the 0.8mm nozzle. No support or bridging settings have been done lately, and the Both Extruders uses 0.3mm for everything bar the infill which is at 0.8mm. Maybe this might help some of you get a leg up using Simplify3D with a Robox. In the .frm I have added an Abort print macro that calls the right GCode to shut the machine down after using Stop in the Machine Control Panel.

OK, so three attachments are the limit, so here's the Profile and .frm file for a QuickFill equipped Robox
