I'm beginning to think the 3Dconnexion driver may have a bug in certain versions of MacOS based on some of the responses here.
This assumption does not get you and your team off the hook from investigating the cause and working with 3DConnexion Developer support to find a remedy.
For your investigative data collection:
I have a Space Navigator (model of 3D Space Mouse from 3DConnexion)
Firmware 3.17
Driver: 3DxWare 10
3DxMacCore version: 1.2.4.307 (307)
3DxWare version: 10.7.4 (3493)
I have tested this Space Navigator on the following Macintosh models and MacOS versions.
MacBook Pro (14inch, 2021) Apple M1 Pro 16GB RAM with macOS Ventura 13.1
iMac Pro (2017) 3.2Ghz 8-Core Intel Xeon W 32GB RAM with macOS Ventura 13.1
This 3DConnexion Space Navigator with these drivers functions correctly for me on the systems above with these applications:
Fusion360
Safari Browser
Shapr3D
Blender
There is no response to any controls on the Space Navigator mouse with Simplify3D version 5.0.0

Hello.
What your MacOS version and Mac model?
Didn't realize this was a mac-specific thread. Lenovo P16, Windows 11. I need a computer that works.
This is a problem people has in a hope to fix software issues. They just "forget" to specify the OS they're running so issues can be ironed out...

Just adding to the list, my SpaceMouse Enterprise does not work with S3D either.
MacOS 13.1, M1
I'm using an older 3Dconnexion driver (10.7.0) but it works well with F360, Blender and FreeCAD

Windows 10 driver info
My Enterprise Spacemouse 'works' for small values of 'works', but is very clunky at how smoothly it rotates. I am very glad it is now being supported at all, but it seriously needs a good look by a team of developers to determine why it is functioning so jerky.
It was also super slow initially, I had to edit the speed in the spacemouse control for S3D, and jack it all the way up. And, it's still a little slow for my tastes. I don't experience any of this in Solidworks.
To be clear, it will rotate the model, but at certain points, will jump radically. It needs more testing, and more love.

more playing and the issue is that the code cannot effectively process any movement incorporating more than one axis at a time. This is essentially the entire desire of using this type of device - it's a 6-DOF device, and all degrees of freedom should be allowed in parallel.

Hi.
U can change this setting, uncheck "Dominant" in the settings.

I just wanted to chime in and say that both of my 3dconnexion space mice do not work with V5. I added Simplify V5 to the menu in system settings.
MacOS 12.6.1 Monterey
MacBook Pro (15-inch, 2016)
Processor 2.9 Ghz quad-core intel core i7
Memory 16GB
Graphics Radeon Pro 460 4 GB

Claimed 3D mouse compatibility is the single reason I forked out $59 for the upgrade, since every time I popped a design from Fusion 360 into S3D v4, I cursed S3D out loud because it paralyzed 3D mouse (3Dconnexion space mouse).
$59 bucks got me a 3d mouse that moved frustratingly slow, to the point that I was sure I was going to end up damaging the mouse pushing and pulling on the knob like a madman in an attempt to speed things up. Changing the speed parameters within the 3Dconnexion app, either globally or for each individual axis, had zero effect.
But: [SOLUTION]: I uninstalled my 3dconnexion driver completely, installed the latest from
https://3dconnexion.com/us/drivers/ and hey presto! My mouse works within S3D the way I want it to (i.e. the same speed it does in F360)!
Windows 11 Home, Version 10.0.22000 Build 22000
S3d 5.0.0
Have not tried it on my Mac

Thanks for the feedback everyone! We certainly recommend using the latest 3Dconnexion driver, so if you are using an older driver please be sure to update it first.
Right now, it looks like S3D is working correctly on everything but the latest few Mac OS releases. We have been investigating that and narrowed it down to an issue within the 3Dconnexion API. We are currently working directly with their team to get it fixed, so we hope to have an update soon!
