Well I never got this to work, not even with S3D 4.0.1. It really sucks...

Problem Solved:
I just installed Simplify3D and had the same problems connecting. I read this post and all the recommendations but still could not get my printer to show up in the Port selection unless I was connected via USB or had my laptop with a hardwire Ethernet connection to my router. Then I looked at my network adapter settings on my laptop and saw I had two adapters associated with VM Ware. I disabled both of those adapters and as soon as I did that I could connect to the printer over the wireless connection.

If you are having problems check your network adapter setting in Windows and try disabling all other adapters except your wireless.

Running into the same issue here, did any of you who got this working do so from an ethernet connected PC to a wifi connected Davinci?

I want to print from my network server in the basement to my Davinci on the first floor, since the server is on 24/7 anyways. Both are on the same network subnet but obviously the Davinci is Wifi and the server is Gigabit Ethernet. Windows/software firewalls are disabled, I can ping from the server to the printer without issue, but it doesn't show up in the list of ports. (Only get COM3/COM4).

I will share my solution as it may help some of you. I am using Windows 10 Pro 64 and I have an XYZ Davinci Pro 3in1. After adding / activating S3D to the allowed (private, public) networks, I was still not able to connect to my printer. I used a virtual port, got connected, but always got an error from the printer when sending a file. As it turns out, I decided to disable my VPN (I use NordVPN - it is awesome) and I was able to connect to my printer. While connected, I enabled NordVPN and connection persisted. Hope this helps.
