This works people. No need for samba or anything other than curl.

Side note, not sure how it works using the raspberry pi api key I originally setup octoprint with some time ago but it still works. It works for klipper and the sonic pad (same thing).

Version 5.1 now includes full WiFi integration with Klipper/Mainsail so that you can connect to the printer, upload build files, initiate prints, and monitor the status of the printer directly through the native Simplify3D machine control panel. It makes printing much more convenient and we've been using it non-stop with our Klipper based printers in the office. Thank you for the great suggestion and I'm glad our team was able to get it fully implemented!
