Is it just my calendar or is it end of september already and still no update available.
Cura has passed S3D a long time ago, More than a year without progress of bug fixes,.. and still charging money.

Just checked my calendar...…..and unlike yours, mine finishes on the 30th.

I'm wondering but what does Cura do better than S3D?
I'm new to 3d printing but after my first day of 3d printing trying to use Cura, I tried S3D and decided that I wouldn't ask the refound.
What i thought with my little experience is that S3D is faster, easier and has some feature Cura misses. On the other hand Cura GUI lags hard on my pc (even though it's a workstation), has a ton of settings and probably half of them is useless or not well engineered/implemented. It looks like the typical old software with a lot of additions and bug fixes causing huge unoptimized code.
I'm not saying that S3D development should be way more dynamic and interactive since they charge quite a bit but I'm still thinking S3D looks superior to Cura.

What is the feel for if the built in updater will actually detect the update this time around? The 4.0.1 update was invisible to S3D, but is required to use S3D with the Prusa I3 Mk3.

I don't know why they've not admitted it.....but it must have been a trypo they made when they added the last upgrade to the distribution system they use. Its unlikely to happen again.

Just checked for updates and no 4.0.1 for me. I'm still at 4.0.0

This has been said a few times on the forum.....
Log into My Account on the S3D website and go to the Download page. It says that the latest update is v4.0. Download it.....and its actually v 4.0.1.
When they added the v4.0.1 release to the download manager system (which is more than likely a third party software package) they must have entered the wrong information into the software...or forgot to update what was there....and it displays the wrong text! The latest version....v4.0.1...is downloaded.
Try it!!!!

....but i need to use Cura for my Ultimaker S5 due to no profile....
Email our support team. They can help you with the S5's profile.
Many thanks, they sent a profile and i have been testing it, had one error at first so support sent a fixed profile and i can now use the S5 in Simplify3D for AA core's.

Woohoo, at the latest we get S3D 4.1 in just four days. Hopefully more than just more accurate build time prediction
