Re: 2.2 Release Discussion Thread!

When attempting to install, Avast antivirus picks up some malware and deletes the .exe installer. Any ideas?

I know some software recommends disabling AV when installing. Haven't tried that yet.

Re: 2.2 Release Discussion Thread!

Disable it. I have heard about 5 people say the same thing but only when using avast.

Just noticed this today. Export seems to work, at least it generates a file, but import does nothing.

Re: 2.2 Release Discussion Thread!

In response to "something broken with z stepping on makerbot rep 2" in this thread, I can say that I'm having the same problem on my Cupcakes. Everything worked fine on the previous release and now, every print strips the filament from too much pressure after about 1 cm of printing height. I can go back to old parts compiled with the previous software and they work fine. Try something compiled with the new software and it will fail.

I tried reducing the multiplier. .98 worked in the previous software. .95 failed more quickly. I'll try 1.05 next...

Re: 2.2 Release Discussion Thread!

Seems to work okay. But the response time between the computer and the printer over usb - flashforge creator - seems to have a lot of little stops and starts that I don't remember noticing in the previous release.

Thanks for the mm/s and filament weights.

Now. where do i set the filament density ?
For some of the new filaments with metal powders incorporated - that's fairly important. I mean i can work it out easily enough, but an option to change density would be useful (probably there, I just haven't spotted it yet)

So next up - how about some dual extrusion improvements and options :-)

Re: 2.2 Release Discussion Thread!

Again, in response to "something broken with z stepping on makerbot rep 2", I changed my extrusion multiplier from .98 which worked in the previous version to 1.05 and printed just fine!

Before that, the printer would stop feeding the filament about 1 cm [layer height] into the print. For the record: ABS, .15 mm layer height and on an old Cupcake with MBE v9 Extruder.

Re: 2.2 Release Discussion Thread!

I am having a problem with the raft not wanting to come off my prints. This issue was not present in the last version but popped up after the update to the new 2.2 version. I have already reset all the features to see if it would help and nope still stuck on my prints.

I have already turned on 8 people to this program and they all love it.

Last response to "something broken with z stepping on makerbot rep 2" -- I just tried printing parts on my second Cupcake that still has an MK6 with 3mm filament and changing to 1.05 extrusion multiplier works wonders there too.

I've been noticing this too, but it didn't occur to me that it was the upgrade that changed things. I still have the older version installed on my Mac and I may do some tests if I get a chance.
