Yep, it's a Mac-specific thing. On the Mac, applications register with the US what file types they handle, so that (for example) the OS only accepts file dropping on an app for file types the app supports, without launching the app and having it fail to open the file. It's pretty routine, so it's odd that they didn't do it. As for this one, yes, I can run the app, then go back and find the STL file and drop it into the GUI. But that's a lot more clicking than opening the STL (e.g. from the browser) and have it launch the slicer and load the object, ready to print.

I just installed 2.1, and it has some nice improvements. For example, when you run it has a wizard to set the software up for your printer in one place, so you don't have to find settings in various places (firmware, print area, profile, etc.). And it doesn't seem to lose settings when you quit, which is a big improvement. Yay!

Though there's more to do. It doesn't open STL or OBJ files, still. And it still has the weird "modal" dialog boxes, etc. But still, improvements are appreciated!

Why not put a switch in so you could choose?

One more requesting mm/s speeds.

mm/min is something for milling, which has lower speeds.

Please, ALL 3D printing guys think in mm/s, not in mm/min.

At least a switch is welcome.

I agree. No one is using mm/min for 3D printing. All 3D printing documents I read have these measures given in mm/s. It's very inconvenient to use mm/min. I have to always convert from mm/s values to mm/min just to satisfy Simplify3D.

Please change this, or at least make mm/s an option fur us users.
