All that's proposed is that S3D have the _option_ to enter speeds in mm/sec, consistent with pretty much every other 3d printing app, and let users enter speed in the units that they're used to.
If some users want to use mm/min, that's fine, too.
The request, which has tons of posts of support, is simply that in the one field where users enter speed for an extruder, they have a control which lets them pick between mm/sec and mm/min, and if the setting is mm/sec, that S3D multiplies the number by 60 when generating gcode.
That's all there is to it.
So please stop inventing weird scenarios that don't make any sense. There's no conversion back and forth, gcode doesn't change, there's no affect on precision, or anything else weird that you imagine. If a dozen other apps, used by nearly everyone doing 3D printing, can figure out how to multiply by 60, I am sure that S3D can as well.
