DItto Mode Issues

Hello,

Has anyone had issues using Ditto mode with Simplify3d? I am using a QIDI Tech 1 which allows me to turn on Ditto mode within the printer.

When I am not in Ditto mode and print, my prints turn out fine. However, I had to fine tune my retraction settings to get this print to turn out okay.

When I am in Ditto mode, I get all the stringing and blobbing that I got before I fine tuned my retraction settings. Both extruders are running the same color and type of filament, Hatchbox PLA. Same file from Simplify3d but it is almost like none of the information on retraction is getting through.

Anybody have thoughts on this? Thanks!

Re: DItto Mode Issues

If the same file works in single extrusion mode but then falters in ditto mode I'd think that something about the way ditto mode works is causing the issue. I haven't used it much but would be happy to try it out on my sailfish printer. Wanna attach your factory file?

Re: DItto Mode Issues

I have the same printer.

My first layers were stringy and uneven on both samples when using ditto mode. Although the same settings for a single part were just fine. After adding a raft and ensuring at least 0.50 mm thickness at top and bottom layers the part turned out okay. Interestingly the skirt printed in the wrong location. See photo.
