Is there some documentation explaining what each of the features in the advanced settings does? I'm having some issues with my prints and need to know what I can tweak...

I saw that there was an option to "Upload to SD" and "Print from SD"...
What happened to this option? why was it removed...

This will save me from removing and reinserting the SD card constantly which I think will eventually wear it out

I don't recommend using Upload to SD unless you are sure your gcode file is pretty small, by the way. It can take a long time since it is doing the upload at the communication speed with the printer, and not the faster USB transfer speed you would be using with a card reader.

What I would like to know is, how do you *stop* an SD print. I can only ever pause it, then emergency reset the printer if I want it to stop completely.

I will update that document at some point. The original took an afternoon to write, so it's not that much work, but it's time I don't have at the moment.

Hmm, jin when you pause it, it is basically stopped unless you feel
Like resuming it. 99% of the time when i hit pause i dont go back to printing. I just go on to whatever else i was doing or just hit print from sd card again to start the file over.

Monty, jin is right. You dont want to upload to sd. It will take forever to do that. I tried it once and it took about 1/2hr if i remember right. Also i really wouldnt worry about wearing out a $3 sd card. They are meant to go in and out many times without issue.

I meant wearing out the reader of either the laptop or the bot with too much use...

I only have: Print from USB and Save Toolpaths to Disk...

right thats all you should have. you will either print from usb or print from sd card. save it to your sd card and put it in the machine. i dont know of anyone who uploads to the sd card which im sure is why it was removed. its just too crazy slow. even when there was that option a warning dialogue box popped up before you did it.

The Print from SD and Upload to SD appear in the Machine Control Panel. You access that by clicking the gear icon on the right side toolbar, or typing CMD-P on a Mac. I imagine it would be CTRL-P on a PC.

Found it! Thanks Hadn't spotted it before... although from what you guys are saying, sounds like it's not a good option anyway
