Has Simply3d downsized their developers to null?

although i don't want to flame, i'm asking this because by comparison cura seem to be progressing in leap and bounds adding more features and releases, more version in high intensity, while the last major release was a year ago.with barely any updates or fixes . i heard only that 4.1 is under development with no updates on ETA or planned features.

Re: Has Simply3d downsized their developers to null?

I would like to know this as well. A while ago I posted about Simply3D lacking in proper development management and customer management. I think I had some backlash but mostly people were in agreement. I have no idea how big or small their development team is but one thing is for sure, they are very unorganized and seem to lack the basic understanding of the software development process. Also, add in that they lack customer service and communication of what the current status is. I understand that releasing planned features isn't something that every development team is willing to do, but releasing a timeline, even if it's an estimate, goes a long way in showing their license holders didn't waste their money.

They seem to ignore the forum and emails that pertain to anything about their development processes. I emailed them once about it with no response and I honestly gave up at that point. I should email them again but I'd still expect to hear nothing back. What needs to happen is to have people that are well wrapped up in the 3d printing community like Joel and Angus starting taking about how Simplfy3D handles their development process and their customer service. This would spread throughout the community and maybe they'd open their eyes and restructure how they work.

I'd love to have one of their developers or some manger comment on this thread but they won't.

The company has only been growing, and there's a ton of work going on with the upcoming 4.1 version. Trust me, we are as anxious as you are to get it completed so that our customers can start using the new features.

I'll talk to the team and see if we can post a more detailed update shortly to give more insight
