Strange artifacts in print preview

I am trying to slice and print a model of an RC plane I designed. I am getting some very strange artifacts on my print preview. These are not in my model and do not appear at all if I try to slice the same file in CURA 3.3.

I am using proven good slicer settings....help!

Re: What is going on here?

Adrian,

Welcome to the Simplify3D forum. Have you tried examining the model for common model issues that would cause issues with slicing? The tools for detecting common errors in models can be found in the Repair drop down menu. More on the repair menu here: Identifying and Repairing Common Mesh Errors

Also, can you post your factory file and a screenshot of the slicing artifact?

Re: What is going on here?

If you have Windows10, then it may be worth loading the stl into the 3DBuilder app...which is very good at ironing out issues in the model mesh.

Just load....and if there is an issue, the software will ask if you want to repair. Answer "Yes" and then save the file as a .3mf format file...which will load directly into S3D...and in the vast majority of cases...Bingo!
