Add A Solid Layer Every XX Layers For Support

I am sure this has been asked but I couldn't find an existing thread.

It would be nice to be able to add a basic solid layer at a specified layer interval to support structures. Similar to the one on the infill tab.
This could help on thin/tall supports to give a little extra stability and strength.

This is a wonderful idea for a time saving improvement. You can already make sections of supports filled solid using the variable settings wizard and grouping the small sections you wish to change the support density to 100%.

Have you done any prints using the existing tools to try and see if this would really be a great improvement?

Yes, but multiple processes for something like this is simply time consuming. If I have a 240mm tall print and I want a solid layer every 50mm I believe that means I will need 9 processes to accomplish what can be done on the infill tab by simply selecting a number such as "50".


1 process for the first 50mm then a process for the solid support layer then a process for the next 50 and on and on.

This also really opens up the potential for a process getting messed up accidentally and wreckign a long print.

So, yes it can be done currently but it is not efficient. I think it is something that many would love once they realized what it could add for them.
Same as the solid layer for infill.

I would also like a varialbe solid infil layer height selection. Say something like being able to input 3-4 layer heights to add a solid layer to.
