alternate between extruders for each layer

Searched the forums and support, do not see if this feature already exists.

I have a dual extruder (Powerspec Pro/Flashforge clone). My request - can the slicer alternate between each extruder for each layer

e.g
I have purple PETG filament loaded in left extruder
and glow in the dark filament in the right extruder
can i use just the slicer to achieve a mixed filament print with glow in the dark purple petg?

I know this will only work if the filaments have similar temperature requirements.

thanks in advance

Yes, just use the dual extrusion wizard. You will need to make the model up into two parts also though.

Give a read on S3D dual extrusion. I think you'll be able to get what you want but I think it will be a very long print when doing alternating layers.

Thanks for the reply. I have used the dual extrusion wizard for objects that were created with separate models.

What i was looking for was a way to use the slicer to convert a single model object into a mixed filament result. Editing the object into two models is possible but then it is hard to figure out the layers. The slicer might be a easier way to do it
