Support Structures Difficult to Remove

Hi All!
We're running PLA on an Ultimaker 2 Extended. Been having issues removing support structures. They're "fused" on so hard to our part that removing them tears away portions of the actual part! I've attached a photo. Went through the Simplify3D YouTube videos on support structures as well as the Troubleshooting Guide and tried to implement the suggestions to no avail. Any ideas on how to get these to remove easily?? Thanks!
