V 4.1.2
I had running a print of two objects (copy of ..) and when I leaf the house and returning I have found a very bad result.
Searching what cause this I found out, that there was no retraction proceeded.
Retraction is checked ON in tab Extruder and in tab Advanced it is checked ON the first option: Only retract when crossing ...
The Preview shows also no typical dots for the retraction point - see attached picture and factory-file.

In the G-Code I have found some retracts and they are also shown in the Print Preview. But they are situated inside the print and I miss the Vertical Lift (0,60 mm) at all. The fist one E -5.5000 is found in the gcode-line 333,093 of 348,022.
The missing Vertical Lifts will be cause this bad print.

PS: for testing, I sliced with V 4.0 and there the Retractions and the Vertical Lift seems nomal; it starts at line ~ 300 and will be proceeded any time when switching to the next model.

If the Print Preview shows the reality (not sure), than there are unwished and inexplicably movements of the printhead between the both objects. One of them without retraction.
Additionally the travel moves seem to be doubled.

Thanks for pointing out exactly where you saw the issue. I sliced your factory file in 4.1.2 and then saved the G-Code. I couldn't find the issue you're talking about. The instructions clearly say to move Z up then back down after moving to the new printing location.

Can you let me know what line number the move without retraction is found at?

Hi S3D-Jake,
thanks for answering!
I searched for the typical command E-5.5 what indicates retracts.
I'm expecting retractions anytime when the printhead jumbs to the 2nd object, will say, any layer must have two retracts. Forward and backward.
Obligatory every retract must have a Z-lift what is expressed by the command G1 Z.... (+0,6mm / - 0.6mm related to the actual layer height)
When I have found with MS-notepad ++ the first retract it was in commandline 333,093. All layers before I couln'd find E-5.5.
To controle myself I have tested with V 4.0 and notepad++ has found retracts all over all.
I have played a lot with the settings and unfortunately I have over written the origin of the print file on SD card. The attached factory-file and all pictures I took after the print and so they are not origin.
The next few days I have to print them once more, we will see.

I found 403 occurrences of E-5.5 in the resulting slice from your file upload. The earliest retraction was at line 213 for me.

Yes, I see!
What explanation you have for the objectively existing print issue?
I sliced the object many times with different settings and when I returned to my standard profil, notepad++ shows always a different result. Also I have switched between 4.1.2. 4.1.1 and 4.0.
After restarting the computer the gcodes are proper. The crashes of the program are reduced but not solved. Perhaps here is a reason to look for.

The print quality issues look a lot like overheating to me. Have you tried turning the speed overrides for layers below X seconds in the speeds tab? The default for this setting is typically somewhere between 15 and 25 seconds depending on the quality of the machine's build.

Can't be, it is additional material.
I have print with this profil without any changings (exept First Layer caused by V 4.1.2) a lot of very different objekts, also such as more filigreed as this object is.

PROBLEM DISCERNED
I spend the evening in front of my printer.
First I tried out a print - always with the same profile but an other model, a little bit smaler structured cylinder than the first modell - and all settings identical but only one process with LH = 0,20 mm.
The result is not excelent - not expected with this LH - but fine. No retracts or liftings are missed (!) .
Then I started the same print with 2 processes, the first as basic up to 3 mm in fine quality, followed by the 2nd process but LH only 0,12 mm.
And that seems to be the reason for the trouble! The extrusion becomes to high with the reduced LH, I have had overextrusion on both objects which was accumulated to each opposite side of the 2 objects while moving .
This effect may be enforced by my settings, but I need the objects as strong as possible and they are nearly solid, and the smaler the object is drawn the effect do enforce itself.
If it is a mathematical or digital problem S3D may be able to solve it. And I think so, because in nearly 5 years of S3D I have never reduced the Multi for certain processes with different LH.
