PLA Stringing Increases With Reduction In Temps.

I am working with a new printer (F410) that has a Bowden setup. The manufacturers supplied S3D FFF runs PLA at 230 with a Volcano hotend.
This seems pretty hot to me but if I reduce temps to even 220 it starts to string quite a bit.

This seems to be kind of the opposite of what you might expect.

I am new to a Bowden setup and the Volcano hotend.

Any thoughts or info or advice would be appreciated.

I believe lowering the temperature causes filament in the nozzle gets more viscous which requires more pressure that build up in the nozzle. That pressurized filament needs to go somewhere and its not all going up towards the bowden tube, so it goes out through the nozzle during movements. Increasing your retraction should help. I print PLA between 215-245, so 230 isn't super high, but its getting there. I had this issue when I went to a 0.75mm nozzle and tried printing fast. Solved it by tuning the temp, speed and retraction.
