S3D adding supports when not needed?

Hello all,

First question is why is S3D adding support structure inside a solid body and there are no overhangs?? (picture). The supports on the round cut out are correct.

Second question is why is the model coming in at an angle? Meaning the long edge of the model doesn't line up with an axis of the printer. Is this done on purpose? I click center and arrange and it just centers it, no rotation. I thought previously it would align axis...

Could you please post a Factory File for this? It is tough to tell what could be happening from just this image.

Just a hunch....but I think that using the Separate Connected Surfaces option to separate multiple meshes out of a single mesh will resolve this issue.

If so, isn't it about time that this was addressed by the S3D development team. The way S3D handles multiple meshes in a single file is causing far, far too many prints to fail. Search for the phrase "Separate Connected surfaces" and my username....and I bet you'll find around 100 separate hits....all where I suggest using the option to cure a failed print!
